What is KeepWiz?
A backup brain for your household. It keeps the people, accounts, assets, documents and due dates your household relies on connected in one view you control, and helps get the right information to the right people at the right time. We call that household continuity, and KeepWiz is a Household Continuity System. It works on your phone and your computer.
Is it a password manager?
No. You can record where something is kept — never the password, PIN, security answer or recovery code itself — and KeepWiz is built to discourage you from typing secrets in.
Where do my documents actually live?
Files you add through KeepWiz stay in the Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox account you connect — your account, not ours. KeepWiz keeps the organising layer: the records, links, notes and due dates that join everything up. The Security page explains where each piece lives.
What happens if KeepWiz shut down?
Files you added through KeepWiz are already sitting in your own storage, and you can export your records. You would lose the connected view, so exporting matters — which is why it's built in rather than hidden.
Who can see my records?
Your household members see the shared household picture; anything you mark private stays yours alone. Nothing leaves the household unless you deliberately share it — for example a pack you choose to send to a broker or lawyer.
Does it connect to my bank?
No. KeepWiz does not connect to or sign in to your bank. It can read a statement you give it — a file or a photo — and suggest what your records are missing.
What does it cost?
It is free during beta and no payment details are required — beta members keep free access afterwards as thanks for helping. From launch, the Keep Plan is US$5/month or US$50/year (plus any applicable sales tax), with a 30-day free trial. One plan, everything included, whole household covered.
Why does it cost money at all?
Because you're the customer, not the product. KeepWiz is paid for by Keep Plans, not by selling your household information, and we don't show you ads. The only money we make is what you pay us, and that keeps us working for you. It comes to less than a cup of coffee a week, about the cost of one really good coffee a month.
Do I need a Google account?
No. Start with any email address — continue with Google or Microsoft, or ask us to email you a code.
What's a sponsored account?
A professional you work with — a broker, adviser, accountant, lawyer, or someone in another role entirely — may choose to cover your KeepWiz subscription. The account is yours either way. Sponsorship does not give them access to your household account or records, editing rights, or any automatic feed of your information. And if a sponsorship ever ends, the account and everything in it stays yours — you can simply continue at the standard prices if you'd like to keep going.
Is it a will? Is this legal or financial advice?
No. KeepWiz does not create or replace a legal will, and it does not provide legal, financial or tax advice. It is the working notes that make those conversations easier — and it will tell you to see a professional where one is needed.
Is everything I put in visible to everyone in my household?
No — there are three layers and you choose what goes where. Ordinary household things (bills, the house, pets, contacts) are shared with your household, because that is the point of them. The Vault holds your sensitive documents — wills, IDs, legal and medical papers; your household can still see those, but the door asks for your passkey, and if someone helping you opens it, that is written permanently into your record where you can see it. Your Green Box is different again: what you write there is yours alone. Nobody else can open it — not other people in your household, not whoever set the household up, and not us.
Can KeepWiz staff read my information?
No. Your household's records are walled off in the database itself, so we have no way to open them from inside KeepWiz — there is no staff view of your records, and no switch that turns one on. The only way anyone at KeepWiz sees inside your household is if you invite them, they sign in as themselves, and you approve them — and from that moment every sensitive area they open is written permanently into your record. Two honest notes: if you ask for help, a real person reads what you type in the help box (that is how they help you), and we run the servers, so like any software company our infrastructure staff hold that trust position. That is why the permanent record exists and why the Green Box is yours alone.
If something happened to me, who decides what gets shared?
People do — never the system. You can, if you choose, nominate a trusted person and leave sealed instructions for them; there is no expectation that you will, and KeepWiz works perfectly well if you never do. If you have, anything sealed is opened only after the people you named ask, and a person approves the release. There is no timer, no automatic trigger, and no judgement made by software or AI — KeepWiz is never the judge of whether your information should be released. It prepares and carries out what the humans decide.
Can my whole household use it?
Yes. Invite them and they join with their own sign-in. Household members see the shared picture; what each person marks private stays private to them. People you simply record (like a child or an elderly parent) don't need a sign-in at all.
Can I take my data and leave?
Yes. Your files are already in your own storage, you can export your records, and you can ask us to close your account. The Privacy page describes what deletion covers.
