Privacy Policy

The privacy policy for KeepWiz (keepwiz.com and the KeepWiz app), in plain English. If anything here matters to a decision you’re making, ask us. Last updated 5 September 2026.

Who we are

KeepWiz is a household continuity tool operated by 8 Feet Tall Pty Ltd (ABN 67 700 775 686), trading as KeepWiz (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at hello@keepwiz.com.

What we collect

The household information you choose to enter — people, assets, accounts, liabilities, bills, insurance, income, health, pets, contacts, documents and your private intentions — plus your sign-in identity — from Google, from Microsoft, or simply the email address you asked us to send a code to. We do not ask for, and ask you not to store, passwords, PINs or seed phrases; the app actively blocks these.

Where it lives, and security

Your structured records are stored in an encrypted database hosted in Sydney, Australia (Supabase, on AWS), protected by row-level security so only your household can access your data. Your uploaded documents stay in your own cloud storage — Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive or Dropbox, whichever you connect — we hold a pointer, not the files, and only to files the app created. You can also download a copy of your records to your own computer at any time. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply layered protections and keep an immutable audit trail of sensitive actions.

Overseas / AI processing

When you choose to have the app read a document (snap or extract), that document’s content is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, in the United States, to extract details, which return as suggestions for you to approve. This is optional and only happens when you use that feature. Anthropic does not use API content to train its models. By using the reading feature you consent to this cross-border disclosure.

Recording other people, and joint ownership

KeepWiz records what yousay about your own affairs, and some of that necessarily names someone else — a jointly owned home, a shared loan, a person you have named as a contact or a beneficiary. You do not need anyone’s permission to record your own account of something you hold jointly, and your report can show it. What we do is make clear whose statement it is, and whether anyone else has confirmed it. If the other owner uses KeepWiz, they may be shown the record and asked to confirm or dispute it, so recording joint ownership can notify them. If they do not use KeepWiz, they are not notified and have no say through us — the record simply stays marked as unconfirmed. Choosing not to confirm never erases or suppresses what the other person recorded; it only means we will not show it as agreed by both. Please record only what you genuinely believe is accurate. If you are named in someone else’s records and want that corrected, email us and we will handle it as a privacy request.

How we use it

Only to provide KeepWiz to you and your household: to store, organise, connect and show your information, and to produce exports and the responder roadmap you ask for. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we never share it for advertising. We share it only with the services that make KeepWiz work, and only as much as each one needs: Supabase (the encrypted database, hosted on AWS in Sydney), Vercel (serves the pages, keeps no copy of your content), Anthropic (in the United States, only when you ask the app to read a document or use the assistant), Stripe (payments: your card details go straight to Stripe and are never held by us), Resend (notification emails, kept deliberately empty of substance), Documenso (only a document you chose to sign), and the cloud storage you connect yourself, being Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive or Dropbox, where your own documents stay. A fuller account of what each one can and cannot see is on our security page. We also disclose information if the law requires it.

Sensitive information

Some of what you may choose to record is sensitive: health information, identity document details, and information about other people in your household. You decide whether to record it. It is stored the same way as everything else, walled off to your household, and it is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared except with the services listed above that are needed to provide KeepWiz to you.

How long we keep it, and what deleting does

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, it is marked for deletion straight away and permanently erased by an automatic nightly process 30 days later, which is a deliberate window in which an account deleted by mistake can still be recovered. After that it cannot be undone. Two things survive, for reasons we think are right: the audit trail, which records that an action happened but not your household information, and cannot be edited by anyone including us; and anything the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires. Your documents are in your own cloud storage, so deleting your KeepWiz account does not touch them and you remove those yourself. You can delete your account from Settings inside KeepWiz, or if you cannot sign in, by emailing hello@keepwiz.com. Full detail is at keepwiz.com/delete-account.

Children

KeepWiz is made for adults and is not directed at children. An adult member of a household may record details about a child in their own family, in the same way they would in a household file. We do not knowingly let a child create their own account.

Data breaches

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme (Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), Part IIIC), and take reasonable steps to contain and remediate it.

Your rights

You can access and correct your information in the app, export all of it at any time, and ask us to delete it. Documents are in your own Drive, so you can delete those yourself. To request deletion or make a privacy complaint, email us; if you’re not satisfied you may contact the OAIC.

No advice — important

KeepWiz is an organising tool only. Nothing in it is financial, legal, tax, medical or estate-planning advice, and nothing should be relied upon as such. Your private “intentions” are working notes — not a will, power of attorney, binding nomination or any legal instrument. For any decision, consult a licensed professional.

Changes

We may update this notice as the product develops. If terms change materially we’ll ask you to review and agree again.
